As of 3/12/2020: NYC Field Trip Update: As I’m sure many of you have seen by now, the Maryland State Department of Education has suspended all out of state field trips indefinitely. Because of this announcement, we will not be able to reschedule the trip to New York City. I have contacted the theater to ask about a refund and am waiting to hear back from them. We were able to cancel our contract with the bus company, so at worst, everyone will receive a partial refund. This will take some time to work through with the theater and our financial office. We appreciate your patience and understanding. The situation is changing rapidly, and like you, we are trying to keep up with the day by day changes. We’ll continue to post announcements on Remind as we learn new information. -Erin Frere, English CoreLead

The post below is also in the Schoology folder "To Kill a Boredom" (found in purple Human Compassion folder). I will post interesting things I find in the "Just for Fun" conversation. Here is today's :
Today, I wanted to share two things:
1. My librarian friend from Pennsylvania made a list of resources that can be used over the next few weeks that offer free internet, news, healthcare info, education and entertainment. Please check out the list and share with friends and family; there are some great resources here! https://caldguides.wordpress.com/2020/03/14/companies-providing-free-services-during-coronavirus-outbreak/?fbclid=IwAR2KX_myxkHE7nVreThl4oiaWWTq6W0xhQAfusc34HWViaBJ-NXVc4XuGwM
2. Yesterday, 3/15 was the "Ides of March." Depending on how the rest of the school year goes, we might have a chance to read the play "Julius Caesar." The Ides of March is an important date in the story. Here is a TED Ed video that explains the story of Julius Caesar in a nutshell: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgPymD-NBQUHave a great day and enjoy!
